The Jackel E-Series hub seals the point where a pipe passes through a sump or sewage basin. It is moulded from flexible PVC, so it compresses around the pipe and seals on contact. No caulking, no sealant, no cure time. Pick your pipe size, lubricate the hub, and push the pipe through.

These are the same hubs supplied with the Jackel Radon/Sump Dome (SMR16101-CV). Sold individually here so you can replace one that has gone missing, or fit the pipe size your kit did not cover.

Why installers use it

Where this fits in a radon system

When a sump pit is used as the suction point for an active sub-slab depressurization system, every opening into that pit matters. A pipe penetration left open bleeds away suction and gives soil gas a path into the basement. The E-Series hub closes that penetration so the pit can hold pressure.

To be precise about what each part does: Jackel rates the E-Series hub as a water-tight seal. The gas-tight element of a sealed sump assembly is the sump dome cover itself. And sealing on its own is not mitigation. Active sub-slab depressurization is the method that lowers radon levels, measured against Health Canada's guideline of 200 Bq/m³ (5.4 pCi/L).

Common questions

Which size do I need?
Match the nominal size of the pipe passing through the basin, not the hole diameter. A 1-1/2" pipe takes the 1-1/2" hub (E150H).

Do I need caulk or sealant with it?
No. Jackel specifies the hub as a water-tight seal with no caulking. Lubricate it to install and that is the whole job.

Will it work with Schedule 80 pipe?
Yes. Each hub fits both Schedule 40 and Schedule 80 at its nominal size.

Is this the same hub that comes with the Jackel sump dome?
Yes. The SMR16101-CV kit ships with one each of E100H, E125H, E150H and E200H. This listing sells them individually.
