Why radon matters in Canada
Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that seeps into homes through foundation cracks, sump pits, and soil penetrations. It's colourless, odourless, and invisible — and it's the second leading cause of lung cancer in Canada, responsible for approximately 3,200 deaths per year according to Health Canada.
Health Canada recommends remediation for any home measuring above 200 Bq/m³. The good news: a properly installed sub-slab depressurization (SSD) system reduces indoor radon levels by 80–99% in most homes.
