The Fantech FLEX 100H ES is a compact residential heat recovery ventilator (HRV) built for high-rise apartments, condominiums, and single- or multi-family homes where installation space is limited. With its top-mounted 5-inch oval collars and included EZ-Mount wall bracket, it fits into a closet or maintenance room as small as 24 inches wide. An aluminum core delivers efficient heat transfer, and the exclusive TurboTouch feature adds up to 50% more exhaust capacity whenever extra airflow is needed.
Radon and indoor air quality
Balanced mechanical ventilation is a recognized way to dilute indoor air contaminants and manage moisture. In a home with a radon concern, an HRV works alongside an active sub-slab depressurization system by bringing in fresh air and limiting the buildup of soil gases and humidity. Health Canada's guideline for indoor radon is 200 Bq/m3. An HRV on its own is not a substitute for a radon mitigation fan where elevated radon has been measured, but it is an effective complement for whole-home air quality. If you are unsure of your level, test first with a certified radon test kit.
